06 Feb AFRICAN VIOLETS
African Violets are both beautiful and fragile, requiring attentive care in exchange for rewarding blooms, much like a work of art! Growing up in Green Bay, my mother taught me to care for her violets as she cared for me. The soil must be kept moist, but just barely, there can never be any water on the leaves, or there may be spotting damage, and they need moderate to bright sunlight, but never direct. The African violets that always filled the north bay window of my childhood home inspired me to paint a series of four pieces in honor of my mother. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and that you have something beautiful that inspires you too!
